Position: Part-time Income Tax Clerk

PART-TIME INCOME TAX CLERK

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure, team environment with high-volume workloads and specific deadlines while multi-tasking, navigating interruptions, and remaining organized.
  • Assist the Income Tax Staff by:
    • Retrieving, opening and sorting incoming mail.
    • Preparing and mailing outgoing correspondence, as well as, distributing mail to the appropriate internal departments.
    • Enter and process employer W2 forms using City Tax software.
    • Filing, copying and scanning documentation.
    • Maintaining records and files to ensure that they are up-to-date and accessible.
    • Assist with office management and organization.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Greet the public in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer inquiries from the general public in person and on the phone in regards to the Income Tax Division.
  • Provide excellent customer service to each patron and interact with the public tactfully and courteously.
  • Attention to detail a must.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers.
  • Computer knowledge preferred including, Word, Excel and the internet.
  • Ability to utilize and/or operate a variety of office equipment, including phone and voicemail, copier and scanner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to work independently to solve problems.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to maintain patience, professionalism, mental alertness, integrity, and dependability.
  • High school diploma required.
Working Hours:
  • Approximately 25 hours per week, Monday – Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Salary Range:
  • $ 16.00 per hour
  • Does not include a benefit package.
