Job Title
Teacher – Kindergarten
LocationWoodrow Wilson Elementary, Port Huron, Michigan
Start DateAugust 31, 2026
Hours/Calendar7.5 hours/day, 183 days.
Qualifications- Valid Michigan Teaching certificate ZA, ZC, ZE, ZG, ZN, ZO (preferred).
- Grade level experience preferred.
- Minimum bachelor's degree; master's degree preferred.
- Highly qualified in endorsement area.
- Meet certification and endorsement requirements for assignment.
- Meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements.
- Proficient in technology.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Create and maintain an environment that fosters student achievement and the development of lifelong skills.
- Maximize opportunities for student success by creating positive working relationships with students.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Show confidence in working with new technology and various application packages.
- Be a role model for students regarding life-long learning and professional behavior.
- Work collaboratively and be willing to learn new skills or revamp curriculum.
- Be flexible, resourceful, innovative and manage the design and execution of learning experiences, both formal and informal, responsive to student needs and learning contexts.
- Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development; encourage and monitor progress of individual students.
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments; provide appropriate feedback.
- Assist students requiring bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Assume other responsibilities as determined by the supervising administrator.
- Conduct professional conduct and project a good public image of the district in community interactions.
