Substitute Instructional Aide/Career Coach
Nonunion, at-will, on-call position
This individual will be actively involved in supporting transition services for special education students in the transition program in both work-based learning worksites (Meijer) and the classroom. The ability to understand the needs of students with disabilities is essential. Critical to the success of this role is collaboration with both educators and employers. This position does not have a guaranteed work schedule for the school year.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid Michigan driver's license with the expectation to obtain a chauffeur's license
- Previous experience with individuals with disabilities
- Experience in supporting instruction, work-based learning and transition services
- Flexible and adaptable to the needs of students and the program
- Physical tolerance for the daily assigned routine, including traveling within the community, lifting up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, push, pull, and twist
- Experience with Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports and CPI preferred
- CPR and First Aid training preferred
