Qualifications
  • Valid Michigan Teaching certificate with ELA and Social Studies endorsement.
  • Grade‑level experience preferred.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Highly qualified in the endorsement area.
  • Meet certification and endorsement requirements for assignment.
  • Meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements.
  • Proficient in the use of technology.
Job Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Create and maintain an environment that fosters student achievement and the development of lifelong skills.
  • Maximize student success by creating positive working relationships with students.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Show confidence in working with new technology and various application packages.
  • Be a role model for students regarding life‑long learning and professional behavior.
  • Work collaboratively and continually learn new skills or revamp curriculum.
  • Be flexible, resourceful, and innovative; effectively manage the design and execution of learning experiences that respond to student needs.
  • Observe and evaluate student performance and development; encourage and monitor progress.
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments; provide appropriate feedback.
  • Physically able to bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 pounds while assisting students.
  • Assume other responsibilities as determined by the supervising administrator.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner and project a positive public image of the School District.
