This position reports to the Field Service Manager. In this role, you will execute service work according to ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines, delivering quality customer service and showing a sense of urgency and care in your area of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities- Perform entry‑level field service tasks, identify technical issues, and analyze problems through remote or on‑site activity in service categories and products; travel on short notice and handle air travel as required.
- Review material lists needed for service activity and ensure all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.
- Execute work with a first‑time right approach, ensuring jobs are done on time and to quality standards, while contributing to customer satisfaction and making recommendations to avoid future issues.
- Troubleshoot simple equipment failures and recommend preventive actions; communicate effectively with customers (external and internal) in high‑pressure situations and maintain strong relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of field/troubleshooting/maintenance/technical support experience, or a High School Diploma with 5+ years of similar experience.
- Willingness to travel approximately 85% of the time.
- Good mechanical experience; electrical and programming experience are a plus.
- Knowledge of PLC communications and other robotic peripheral equipment preferred.
- Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Windows.
