The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $88,400.00 – $ at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
What you Will Do in This Role:- Own and execute mechanical engineering scope for assigned Amazon modernization/retrofit projects.
- Ensure project targets are met for quality, on‑time delivery, and cost. Anticipate issues and address them proactively where appropriate.
- Maintain up‑to‑date project log through department project tracking tool.
- Regularly report on project portfolio performance including on‑time delivery, budget, quality, and risks.
- Own short‑term monthly forecast across assigned projects regardless of resource reporting.
- Complete the design of complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
- Complete complex material specification, schematic preparation, and appropriate follow‑up.
- Recommend ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and improvement in customer satisfaction.
- Perform complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design.
- Identify and resolve more complex problems and apply problem‑solving skills to deal with most situations.
- Master understanding of project schedule and budget for Mechanical Engineering functions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- At least 5 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer (8+ years preferred).
- Proficiency in CET Configura and AutoCAD is highly preferred.
- Familiar with Amazon DC installation types (ARS, IXD, SSD, Air Hub, non‑sort).
- Familiarity with Amazon specific MTBH, rates, and sub‑system designs.
- Familiar with Amazon design specifications.
- Strong background in Material Handling/automation industry.
- Experience in a project‑based Mechanical Engineering position (design to installation).
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of the field of specialization to successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
- Applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a particular area of specialization.
- Shows knowledge of organization's business practices and contributes to problem resolution.
- Communicates, trains and works with customers for final system design.
- Travels up to 20% of the time to different customer locations/Dematic locations.
