MRI Technologist

* Position Summary:

* Performs routine and complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures at a technical level that will produce high quality images consistent with established policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision.

* * Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
* * 1. Specializes in performing routine and complex MRI procedures.
* * 2. Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.
* * 3. Operates and maintains all assigned MRI equipment to ensure it works properly.
* * 4. Positions patients and utilizes equipment in order to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.
* * 5. Properly identifies, prepares and/or administers medications that are within the technologists scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.
* * 6. Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self.
* * 7. Maintains all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats.
* * 8. Maintains an adequate supply of all consumables to perform quality testing.
* * 9. Performs all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment.
* * 10. May assist other areas of radiology as assigned.
* * 11. Performs other related duties as required and directed.

* Qualifications:

* Required:

* Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.

* Advanced ARRT Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

* Current BLS certification.

Preferred:

* Associate degree in radiology.
