  • Assign events based on complexity, workload, and team expertise.
  • Ensure accuracy and clarity of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), resumes, and event documentation.
  • Lead and participate in pre-convention, BEO, resume, cut-off, food & beverage, and post-event meetings.
  • Remain visible and available during events to support clients and resolve last-minute needs.
Financial & Revenue Management
  • Maximize group revenue through strategic planning, food & beverage upselling, and ancillary services.
  • Monitor room block pickup, cut-off dates, billing accuracy, and final payments.
  • Analyze catering and conference services performance to identify risks and opportunities.
Client & Vendor Relations
  • Partner with clients to design customized, high-quality event experiences.
  • Facilitate site inspections and resort tours.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external vendors and service partners.
  • Proactively gather guest feedback, resolve concerns, and encourage repeat business.
What We’re Looking For Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Conference Services, Catering, or Event Management within a full-service, upscale, high-volume resort or hotel environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
Education
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
Technical & Professional Skills

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing event revenue, billing, and budgets.
  • Proficiency with hospitality CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and solutions-focused.
Schedule & Location Requirements
  • Full-time, year-round position with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
  • Must be able to live and work on Mackinac Island.
