ASM Global, the world's leading venue management and services company, has an immediate opening for the position of Event Staff in Port Huron, Michigan. Under the direction of the General Manager and Event Coordinator on Duty, the Part‑Time Event Staff's primary responsibilities include the following functions in accordance with ASM policies.
Major Responsibilities- Greet all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness.
- Assist the event coordinators in the preparation and execution of various events at the convention center.
- If bartending a wedding reception, serve alcoholic beverages in an appropriate manner consistent with company standards and liquor laws.
- Answer guest questions regarding food, beverages, and our facilities, accurately and politely.
- Perform side work during non‑busy hours.
- Develop relationships with guests.
- Provide the highest level of service in accordance with our standards.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Communicate with staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Report to work as scheduled.
- Maintain professional relationships with all coworkers, clients, and guests.
- Follow checklists and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area.
- Ensure that guests have a positive and memorable experience.
- Prepare work area for opening and closing in accordance with company standards.
- Punch the clock ready to work and no earlier than ten minutes prior to shift.
- Receive and handle cash and/or beverage tickets.
- Request identification for all guests who appear to be 35 years of age or younger.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience bartending preferred.
- Ability to read, speak and understand English.
- Clear credit screen required.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for long periods of time.
- All persons handling alcohol must be at least 17 years of age.
- Available to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
