ASM Global, the world’s leading venue management and services company, is seeking an Event Staff member in Port Huron, Michigan. Under the direction of the General Manager and Event Coordinator on Duty, the event staff will assist in the preparation and execution of various events at the convention center.
Responsibilities- Greet all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness.
- Assist event coordinators in event preparation and execution.
- If bartending at a wedding reception, serve alcoholic beverages in an appropriate manner consistent with company standards and liquor laws.
- Answer guest questions regarding food, beverages, and facilities accurately and politely.
- Perform side work during non‑busy hours.
- Develop and maintain relationships with guests.
- Provide the highest level of service in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Communicate with staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Report to work as scheduled.
- Maintain professional relationships with coworkers, clients, and guests.
- Follow checklists and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area.
- Ensure guests have a positive and memorable experience.
- Prepare work area for opening and closing in accordance with company standards.
- Punch clock, ready to work no earlier than ten minutes prior to shift.
- Receive and handle cash and/or beverage tickets.
- Request identification for guests who appear to be 35 years of age or younger.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience bartending preferred.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
- Clear credit screen required.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods of time.
- All persons handling alcohol must be at least 17 years of age.
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
