Our client for the Divisional Vice President of Sales opportunity is a standalone division of a Forbes Global 2000 ranked manufacturing organization. This standalone division is a market leader as a supplier to the Construction, Mining, Off-Highway, Material Handling, Fluid Power, and Industrial sectors. This division and the overall company continue to drive growth organically and through M&A.
The Divisional Vice President of Sales will lead the Americas sales organization driving sales strategy and execution through direct sales to OEMs and through Distribution. The Vice President of Sales will lead a team of 6-10 people driving revenue growth and market expansion catering to the current legacy customers, markets, and applications, while looking to expand into new markets and applications.
This Vice President of Sales will also look to expand the team investing in North and South America. This business has a strong reputation for quality and technical expertise with their customers and drives strong gross profit margins.
- Develop a strong understanding of the markets, customers, and products to drive strategic commercial decisions fueling growth
- Develop and execute a sales strategy that aligns with the company and market opportunities
- Drive revenue and market share growth within the existing markets and customer base
- Identify and pursue new end markets, customers, and applications expanding capabilities and geographic expansion within the Americas.
- Create and sustain an environment and culture that drives accelerated growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction
- Ensure strategic direction aligns with the overall segment being accountable for the overall performance of the divisional sales revenue and profitability
- Establish sales budgets, forecast and performance metrics for the group
- Work closely with the Managing Director and Divisional President on long term business planning and growth
- Lead, mentor and develop a high performing sales team including Regional Sales Managers, Account Managers, Technical Application Engineers and Inside Sales
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with top tier customer accounts at the C-level
- Create strong and long term sustainable customer retention and loyalty programs
- Work closely with Product Development, R&D, and Operations/Supply Chain on market needs and customer delivery
- Drive pricing strategies working closely with finance
- Implement talent development, evaluation, and success planning activities with the HR Leadership team supporting current and future talent needs
- Develop, maintain, and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and other strategic partners
- Drive leadership team in a positive and collaborative approach focusing on a team based culture
- Think like an owner driving and maintaining a goal oriented, entrepreneurial environment with legacy business and new business
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or related
- 15 plus years of experience in industrial b2b sales within the Construction, Mining, Off-Highway, Agriculture, Material Handling, Fluid Power, and Industrial sectors selling to OEMs and through distribution
- 5 years of experience in Sr. Leadership role
- Experience with sealing, gaskets, elastomers, polymers, plastics, composites, and materials science
- Proven background and experience driving business development and revenue growth meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Strong commercial acumen and creative thinker to identify new markets and applications
- Ability to be strategic while also being hands on and tactical when required
- Ability to work with all levels of management and team members internal and external
- Must have experience working for a global company working with different cultures
- Business minded and strong teamwork
- Proficient with CRM and sales analytics tools
- Strong communication skills, time management skills, and a customer focused mindset.
- Strong work ethic and high attention to detail
- Ability to travel 40-50% across the Americas
Competitive base salary $190,000 - $230,000 depending on experience, annual bonus, car allowance, full benefits, 401K and match, vacation, holidays, and relocation assistance if needed. Having ownership of the commercial strategy of this market leader standalone division owned by a $30B parent company. Future opportunities for growth as the company continues to grow through M&A and organic expansion.
