Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
THIS IS AN HOURLY POSITION. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of IAC as described below.
GeneralJob Duties

- Follow Company policies and display conduct expected of IAC employees as described in the Work Plant Rules and Work Safety Rules.
- Adhere to all safety and health objectives, policies and procedures of IAC to provide for a safe and healthful workplace. Work in a safe manner at all times and report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor in order that the situation can be corrected. Report all accidents and near misses in a timely manner when they occur.
- Maintain proper ergonomics at all times when performing assigned tasks.
- To meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of IAC.
- Participate and support all lean, continuous improvement programs, initiatives and activities.
- Meet or exceed daily production goals as directed by the Production Supervisor and the departmental objectives.
- Clean all assigned work areas after completion of the required work, return all tools to proper storage area at the end of the shift and report any malfunctioning equipment to the Production Supervisor.
- Direct all non-conforming parts to the appropriate reprocess area.
- Maintain proper radio etiquette when using company radios, PA system and/or phone, business use only.
- Work overtime as needed in accordance with Company Policy and CBA.
- Perform all assigned tasks per the PM, SOP(standard operating procedures), manufacturing alerts, safety alerts and quality alerts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Duties
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, handbooks, and instructions pertaining to plant equipment.
- Ability to Understand wiring diagrams, Hydraulic / pneumatic diagrams, PLC logic, robotics program and other technical documentation necessary to perform job.
- Install, maintain, align, and adjust precision machines, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems
- Demonstrate knowledge of clearances, tolerances, and bearings and precision parts
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair or replacement of machine tool components basic and precision
- Use computers and/or Robot Teach Pendants to troubleshoot, repair or make program adjustments.
- Comply with all applicable health, safety, and environmental directives and regulations
- Complete projects as direct with machine shop tools such as welding, fabrication, lathe etc.
- Perform and completed assigned PMs
- Must be able to obtain a valid forklift license.
- Must have a High School education or equivalent.

- Classes may be accepted from other sources at the discretion of Maintenance Manager.
- Preferred (1) one year industrial maintenance experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, mechanical and/or electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while standing or walking a minimum of eight (8) hours a day, the ability to lift up to 15 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis, and the ability to perform work that is below the knees and above the shoulders on an occasional basis.
This position also requires a person to be capable of performing sustained motion for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day and capable of repetitive motion for up to four (4) hours. Good vision at a close distance is required.
This position requires the use of PPE in accordance with the Plant Safety Rules.
IAC Training RequirementsAn assessment period of (90) ninety calendar days will be established for each employee who is awarded a Maintenance job bid. In addition, employees will receive training to perform your job on an on-going basis concurrent with IAC business operations. Training areas will include safety, quality, continuous improvement and other job specific training that is determined to be an essential part of your job and IAC business operations.
