Overview

US Farathane is seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Clerk
. This position ensures shipments of parts are organized and arrive on time and in good condition according to customer demands.

US Farathane has been a leading plastics manufacturer providing the automotive industry for over 40 years, offering full-service support from design concepts to engineered materials and extrusion technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • All cartons containing parts are stored/shipped in good condition.
  • Prepare parts for shipment per the shipping schedule using FIFO and according to customer packaging instructions. If parts are not available for shipment at the designated time, notify the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Transfer parts from warehouse to shipment staging. Ensure parts are scanned, wrapped, and have master labels. Check dock codes as required per customer.
  • Complete shipments in a timely manner to ensure availability of commercial transport.
  • Process shipments through the system to ensure timely advance shipping notification and record keeping.
  • Monitor ASN transmission from start to finish to ensure no errors.
  • Scan labels for shipment.
  • Review shippers and verify through computer with pick list.
  • Follow and enforce safety standards for the operation of fork lift trucks.
  • Load/unload trucks, driving Hi-Lo safely and maintaining awareness of surroundings.
  • Transport larger returnables immediately from production floor to the warehouse; do not leave unattended.
  • Verify quantities on incoming shipments. Acknowledge receipts with signature and date received. Complete packing list if none is included; complete log-in sheet.
  • Ensure dock lock procedure is followed.
  • Follow procedures for Key Surrender Board and tire chocking as required.
  • Follow CTPAT procedures.
  • Drive company vehicle for pickups and deliveries as required.
  • Maintain lot number identification for customers requiring it.
  • Label parts and shipments as directed by the shipping schedule. Repack, re-label, and re-wrap as necessary.
  • Retrieve finished inventory placed on hold; rewrap and put away when released for Quality to sort; arrange in orderly manner.
  • Replace racking, decking, nuts, and bolts as necessary.
  • Keep counts on skids and returnables. Maintain clean, organized docks and warehouse areas.
  • Conduct monthly inventories as needed and verify numbers.
  • Assist in training for new Shipping/Receiving Clerk and/or back-up Shipping/Receiving Clerk.
  • When using sharp tools, wear cut-resistant gloves on both hands.
  • Perform other duties as required for the safe, efficient operation of the Plant and its employees.
  • Advise Supervisor or Manager of any short ships before allowing a truck to depart.
  • Match returnable containers to documents on incoming trucks; report discrepancies.
  • Participate in 5-S and CI initiatives.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:

    If the position becomes vacant, the Warehouse Manager will resume responsibilities.
  • Environmental Responsibilities:
    Cooperation with action team directives; familiar with evacuation plans and cleanup procedures. Keep areas clean, organized, and clear of debris and resin.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Good mathematical ability.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing or walking for long periods.
  • Frequent lifting or lowering objects up to 35 lbs.
  • Frequent reaching above/below shoulder and forward.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and crouching.
Working Conditions
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Avoid loose-fitting clothing that may get caught in machinery.
  • Occasional exposure to extreme heat and vibration.
  • Moderate noise level; may work outside for short periods.
