Summary of JobThe Maintenance Technician Lead position is responsible for coordinating and supervising activities of Maintenance Techs. The right individual will have 2-3 years of experience leading a team in a manufacturing environment. This position will create a work environment contributing to team member morale and motivation to accomplish performance objectives. Communicate with other shifts and peers regarding safety, quality, productivity, staffing, equipment, and continuous improvement activities daily.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Accurately record, communicate, and maintain assigned documentation in a timely manner
- Troubleshoot equipment failures for robust repair of plant‑wide equipment
- Ensure standard maintenance and storage area protocol are followed and adhered to
- Serve as a peer mentor and technical resource for the maintenance team by providing guidance, sharing expertise, and supporting skill development, while not holding direct supervisory or performance management responsibilities.
- Safety EASE Audit/Safety Concern form liaison in partnership with EHS specialist
- Training and understanding of all existing and new production equipment
- Assist other departments/shifts as necessary
- Adhere to all health & safety policies and procedures for area
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with and influence team members, peers, and senior managers
- On call for emergency repairs in breakdown situations as necessary. Available on call 24/7 as support to operations
- Accurately read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Accurately complete and document work orders promptly to maintain high‑quality standards
- Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory by checking parts out of inventory and assigning them to the proper work order, ordering new parts when necessary
- Performs related duties as assigned

- Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment

- Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures as outlined at Pregis
- Perform all aspects of the position to the highest quality
- Know all safety requirements of the position before starting any job
- Follow all safety rules and procedures established by the company
- Take personal responsibility for own safety and fellow employees, correcting and/or assisting in the correction of any safety hazard identified
- Exposure to moving equipment
- Humidity may exceed 80%
- Personal Protective Equipment required
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs.)
- Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice‑assisted as needed
- Full time
- Monday‑Friday, 8 hours per day, weekend availability expected
- Applicable coverage on continental 12‑hour schedule when required
- Minimum 2 years working in a maintenance technician role
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a supervisory position
- Strong background in manufacturing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is required, with some knowledge of Microsoft Word/PowerPoint/Access
