Production Operator - 2nd Shift

Goal of the Working Position: performs manufacturing and assembly operations in accordance with established safety, quality, and production standards. This role operates production equipment, inspects product quality, and supports efficient production to meet customer requirements.

• Operate assigned production machinery, equipment, tools, and workstations in accordance with established procedures.
• Follow standardized work instructions, production specifications, and established cycle times.
• Perform equipment start-up, basic adjustments, and shutdown procedures as trained and authorized.
• Monitor equipment and production processes for abnormalities and notify appropriate personnel of issues.
• Meet established production, efficiency, and output requirements.

• Inspect parts and finished products for defects and conformance to quality standards.
• Perform required quality checks, measurements, and inspections according to established procedures.
• Identify, contain, and report nonconforming or defective material.
• Complete required production and quality documentation accurately and timely.
• Follow applicable quality procedures, work instructions, and customer-specific requirements.

• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment’s concerns, and potential hazards.
• Follow proper material handling, ergonomic, and equipment safety practices.

• Perform basic operator-level equipment checks and routine preventative maintenance activities as assigned.
• Identify equipment malfunctions and promptly communicate issues to the Team Leader, Supervisor, or Maintenance based on hierarchy standard.
• Assist with changeovers, material replenishment, and workstation preparation as required.
• Minimize scrap, downtime, and waste through proper operation and handling of equipment materials.
• Support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
• Work effectively with Team Leaders, Supervisors, Quality, Maintenance, Material Handling, and other production employees.
• Communicate production, quality, equipment, and material issues promptly.
• Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving activities.
• Support training and cross-training activities as assigned.
• Perform other production-related duties as required to support plant operations.

Technical

Skills:

• Production & Equipment Operation
  : ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment, machinery, tools, and workstations.
• Quality Standards: basic understanding of product inspection, defect identification, and quality requirements.
• Safety & 5S: Knowledge of workplace safety practices and PPE requirements.
• Work Instructions & Documentation: ability to understand and follow standardized work instructions, specifications, and production documentation.
• Basic Problem Solving: Ability to identify production, quality, or equipment concerns and communicate issues appropriately.

Personal / Professional / Physical:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions and established procedures.
• Ability to maintain quality and productivity standards while performing repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work assigned shifts, overtime, weekends, and holiday as required.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noises, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
