Responsibilities
Provide safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Deliver direct patient care within scope of practice. Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards in Telemetry. Directly responsible for patient care in the Emergency Department. Communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient clinical condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology.
Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response. Maintain knowledge of EMTALA regulations, report child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and hospital social worker. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
- EDAP certified facilities:
Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire. - Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.
Part Time < 60 hours per week.
