Role Overview
The Stepdown Registered Nurse provides specialized care to patients transitioning from intensive care to general units, focusing on monitoring, medication administration, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
Responsibilities- Monitoring cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data
- Administering medications and assisting with cardiac procedures
- Observing patient conditions, documenting assessments, and responding to emergencies
- Educating patients on cardiac health and lifestyle modifications
- Ensuring safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance
- One year of recent Stepdown RN experience
- Valid RN license and current BLS/ACLS certifications
- Critical thinking, interpersonal, technical, and physical abilities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work under pressure, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to irregular schedules. Must possess visual acuity and dexterity for procedures.
