Hospital OverviewMichigan Avenue Animal Hospital is a full‑service veterinary hospital offering wellness exams, vaccinations, dental care, internal medicine, surgery, and specialized services such as pain management. Located in Ypsilanti and within 30 minutes of Ann Arbor and Detroit, our state‑of‑the‑art facility supports a warm, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups
- Communicate and educate clients
- Perform diagnostic procedures and surgeries
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols
- Promote teamwork and staff efficiency
- Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations
- Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations
- Attend daily rounds when possible to ensure highest standards
- Participate in practice‑management updates and training
- Perform other duties assigned by management
- Veterinary degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution
- Current state veterinary license
- DEA registration
- At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary practice
- Strong diagnostic, clinical, surgical and dental skills
- Team‑oriented, interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality care
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks when required
- Comprehensive clinical knowledge and examination skills
- Problem‑solving and operational improvement abilities
- Effective communication with clients and staff

Compensation for Part‑Time roles is prorated based on experience and hours worked. Salary ranges listed are for full‑time positions.
