The Quality Technician is responsible for performing inspections, measurements, tests, and data collection to ensure that components and finished products meet company quality standards, while supporting the day‑to‑day quality initiatives and solutions. This role plays a critical part in identifying nonconformances, maintaining inspection records, supporting root‑cause investigations, and ensuring consistent product quality throughout production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Reasonable accommodations will be arranged to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Assist with development and documentation of Quality Management System (QMS) processes, procedures, and control criteria.
- Document, update, and maintain quality standards, visual guides, and inspection criteria to ensure consistent evaluation across all production areas.
- Maintain and enter daily inspection results into quality databases.
- Maintain all communication and coordination with our testing facility.
- Maintain document control process in accordance with GR Chair standards.
- Conduct product tear‑downs and dimensional verifications as needed.
- Perform in‑line audits of manufacturing processes and products to verify they are in accordance with the print, work instructions, or other controlled documentation.
- Perform root cause analysis to determine the source of customer complaints and support the operation teams and associates on implementations of corrective action.
- Inspect incoming raw components to ensure products meet production requirements.
- Inspect nonconformances to determine root cause and rework plausibility.
- Complete final inspections of finished furniture to verify dimensional accuracy, fit, function, and aesthetic quality.
- Work collaboratively to continuously improve all aspects of GR Chair product quality and production/testing processes.
- Work with Tooling Designers and Tool Technicians to ensure tooling and fixtures meet the expectations required to meet quality and production demands.
- Works safely and follows all safety rules and regulations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, associate degree or other technical certification a plus.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office. Advanced Excel and Smartsheet Skills are a plus.
- Ability to converse with internal and external customers and suppliers regarding quality expectations.
- Self‑directed, self‑motivated, and detail oriented.
- Proficient in English, Spanish speaking abilities is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Competence in using measurement tools and performing dimensional checks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify visual or dimensional defects.
- Ability to navigate and comprehend an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, procedures, and complex documents.
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with customers and coworkers verbally and through written communications.
