Job Summary

Oxford Bank is seeking a proactive and motivated Small Business Banking Associate to join our team. This role focuses on sourcing small business loans for existing customers. You will collaborate closely with other departments to enhance our lending processes while driving sales through cold calling and relationship management. This is a perfect role for those who are passionate about helping small businesses and sales.

Primary

Responsibilities
  • Proactively reach out to existing customers to identify potential lending opportunities, including lines of credit and closed‑end loans.
  • Conduct sales meetings with interested customers to discuss loan options and facilitate the lending process.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers over the phone, via Teams, or in‑person, ensuring a seamless experience without the need for travel.
  • Schedule meetings and consultations with customers to better understand their lending needs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to help enhance the small business loan process, ensure efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage loan documentation via Docusign.
  • Meet and exceed personal sales calling goals and lending targets, typically focusing on loans up to $250,000.
  • Manage the closing process for small business loans and serve as a liaison with the SBL team.
  • Oversee the Customer Experience Center (CEC), ensuring excellent customer service and efficient operations. May be asked to assist customers with Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) located within the CEC.
  • Assist walk‑in customers and telephone customers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must exhibit ability to be flexible.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Adobe pdf.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or higher education preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of banking experience preferred.
  • Previous success in financial services sales preferred.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills required.
  • Must have experience or exhibit the ability to be an independent thinker or worker.
  • Attendance and punctuality is very important in this role, expected to open/close location M-F 8:30am-5:00pm.
