A leading OEM in the material handling industry is seeking a National Sales Representative based in Michigan to support and grow its distributor network across the United States. This role is responsible for driving equipment and aftermarket sales through dealer partners, strengthening distributor relationships, and expanding market presence nationwide.
This is a high-visibility, travel-intensive role ideal for a sales professional experienced in working through dealer or distributor channels in the heavy equipment industry.
Responsibilities- Execute the annual sales plan across a national distributor network
- Travel extensively to support dealer principals, sales managers, and service departments
- Conduct distributor business reviews and establish territory growth strategies
- Identify and develop new dealer relationships within underserved markets
- Drive equipment sales and increase OEM parts and service program participation
- Support forecasting, promotional initiatives, and territory planning
- Deliver in-person and virtual product training to distributor sales and service teams
- Represent the company at trade shows, open houses, and customer events
- Conduct equipment demonstrations and provide technical sales support
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve product issues and provide market feedback

- 3 - 5+ years of outside sales experience in heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or related industry
- Experience developing and managing dealer or distributor networks (OEM dealer experience preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to communicate technical product details
- Proven ability to grow market share and meet revenue targets
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Willingness to travel across the country 60–75% of the time
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
