** General Summary**$40,648- $54,462    Do You Enjoy Being the One Who Keeps Things Safe, Secure, and Running Smoothly? As a Building Security Attendant with Oakland County, you’ll play an important role in helping protect County facilities, employees, and visitors. This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, observant, and comfortable working independently while staying alert to potential safety or security concerns.

No two shifts are exactly the same, and your attention to detail will help ensure County buildings remain secure and operational around the clock.
What You’ll Do  
• Monitor and patrol assigned County-owned or operated buildings and surrounding areas   
• Check for signs of unauthorized entry, safety concerns, fire hazards, or other security risks   
• Report incidents, concerns, or emergency situations to the appropriate authorities in a timely manner   
• Maintain a visible presence to help ensure building safety and security   
• Complete routine security checks and document findings as needed   
• Utilize Countywide and department-specific software systems to complete assignments and maintain records   
• Respond to emergency situations and assist with coverage needs as required   
• Work rotating schedules that may include nights, weekends, holidays, and relief coverage on other shifts   
• Remain available for on-call assignments and emergency events when needed.

** Minimum Qualifications
** EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development Test.

Have at least one (1) year of experience as a Building Safety Attendant.

Possess and maintain a valid United States motor vehicle operators.

Have not been convicted of a violation of criminal law. (Criminal law generally includes all offenses except traffic law, conservation law and liquor law. In general, conviction for a violation of criminal law is automatically disqualifying). Must be able to pass iChat and Oakland County Sheriff’s Office clearance check.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must maintain a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED May function as a leader over a small group of non-supervisory safety employees when assigned by the Building Safety Leader, Supervisor, or Chief.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Performs the duties of absent, Building Safety Leader, to ensure that all assigned areas of County buildings are secure, and staff are covering assigned work areas.
