Role Overview
- Support Thermbond refractory installations.
- Assist with ITM blanket, modules, Silplate Mass projects, Rapid Fire (TCS) installations, Wagstaff Billet installations, and other REX products.
- Assist contractors in a supervisory role for existing contractors and in a setup/training role for new contractors.
- Act as a liaison between end-users and contractors (commercial contracts usually with end-users).
- Document installations and create installation reports.
- Generate follow‑up reports after installations (testimonials, data gathering).
- Perform thermal analysis follow‑ups.
- Set up gunning machines and peripheral equipment for tests and installations.
- Acquire knowledge of gunning equipment to support installations on job sites.
- Maintain awareness of the maintenance schedule for gunning equipment.
- Perform maintenance on all equipment and tools used for installation as needed.
- Aid in demonstrations for workshops.
- Learn proper installation techniques for all products.
- Build metal and wood structures as required.
- Follow all company and customer safety policies and procedures.
- Write installation reports for internal and public distribution.
- Travel to job sites domestically and internationally, with travel expected to be 25‑50% of the time (higher during busy seasons).
- Hold a valid passport for international travel.
- Work extended or erratic hours while on customer installations.
- Support Product Development and Quality Control teams while working out of the manufacturing facility.

- At least 3 years of relevant technical work experience; refractory experience highly preferred.
- Engineering degree a plus – associate degree acceptable.
- Ability to work flexible hours or weekends if required.
- Experience with company materials, safety procedures, and gunning equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with subcontractors and end-users; proven team player.
- Well‑developed skills to effectively work with cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Whitmore Lake, Michigan – successful hire will be based out of the Whitmore Lake, MI facility.
This is a full‑time position. Working days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Limited virtual work is considered.
