Responsibilities
- Operate machinery or equipment required to perform maintenance or repair in a safe and effective manner, ensuring proper operation through troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for anomalies, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools, examining form and texture of parts.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
- Implement and inspect equipment maintenance according to scheduled maintenance plans.
- Conduct machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance services for all production machines, equipment, and building systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, mechanical, and electrical).
- Ensure the work area and equipment are maintained, organized, and clean to MAPAL standards.
- Exceed and exhibit all Mapal Inc. behaviors as defined by policy, procedure, and standards.
- Maintain written flow charts, work instructions, and/or standards for each position responsibility, ensuring they are consistent, accurate, and updated as needed.
- Actively participate in all cross‑functional team projects and assignments directed by the Manufacturing Director.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to meet qualification standards.
- Experienced Maintenance Technician with a focus on electrical, instrumentation, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; self‑starter with hands‑on installation and maintenance skills.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics; troubleshoot and repair machines; disassemble and assemble machines accurately according to manufacturer guidelines; and execute verbal and written procedures effectively.
- Detail‑oriented with strong troubleshooting and process workflow skills.
- Capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Positive, "Can do" attitude and approach.
