Senior Software Engineer - Oracle HCM Cloud

The Senior Software Engineer will help build the Next Gen Applications Suite. Along with writing effective code, the position will be responsible for designing, building, delivering and maintaining a highly scalable set of products and applications. The incumbent will use industry best practices and work collaboratively with cross-functional team of product managers, UX designers, architects, principal engineers, software engineers, test automation team and Dev Ops engineers.

The Oracle HCM Cloud Senior Software Engineer provides expertise in the support and maintenance of Oracle HCM Cloud modules.

• 4+ years of experience along with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field or equivalent work experience - Master's degree is a plus
• Well versed and should have expertise in Oracle HCM Cloud advanced tools such as OIC, OCI, HCM Extracts, HDL, PBL, BI Publisher, Application Security, Fast Formula, Page Composer, Page Configurator, REST APIs, SOAP, Webservices
• Experience in product personalization, data integration, data conversion and reports development is required
• Experience designing and developing highly scalable and secure applications and products
• Experience with developing and deploying applications on Azure or similar cloud platform
• Ability to understand business plans and apply that information into the development of an IT business case
• Expertise in BI Publisher reports development, interface development and troubleshooting, application security roles, workflow approvals is mandatory
• Anticipates problems, resistance or likely objections and takes action to resolve them
• Ability to guide, train and mentor associate engineers
• Proficient in organizational processes as well as capable of assessing and initiating change of such processes
• Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge and application of competency and can consult as well as lead others in its application
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies
• Ability to develop and maintain key vendor relationships with a focus on technology currency and best practices

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.

Pay Grade 22. $92,500 - $200,400

• Work closely with the Application Analysts and HR Business teams to gather requirements for reports, interfaces, extensions, integrations
• Develop functional and technical design and documentation for Oracle Application dependent data conversions, interfaces, custom reporting, and custom applications including use of documented revision control
• Participate in the design, development and maintenance of conversions, modifications/customizations and interfaces to/from Oracle’s suite of business applications
• Open, manage, and resolve Oracle service requests with Oracle support
• Drive the resolution & troubleshooting of issues during development and postproduction support
• Design, document and perform unit testing to validate product functionality
• Performs as a key contributor to an engineering team that builds and supports exceptional products that provide innovative solutions to challenging business use cases, existing system and operational problems
• Participates in architectural design, system analysis, and programming activities on application software; this may often require independent research and study
• Develops high-quality and production-ready software by using best-practice data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and frameworks that are maintainable, scalable, responsive, and secure
