Title: Bus Driver

VP Area: Athletics

Published Salary Range: 25.00 to 28.00/hour

Under the supervision of the LSSU Charter Schools designee, provide safe, reliable, and professional transportation services for university groups and contracted events. The drivers will be responsible for transporting students, staff, athletic teams, and other groups to various events, ensuring compliance with all Michigan licensing laws, University Risk and Safety policies, and OSHA safety standards.

• Valid Michigan Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Group B and Passenger (P) endorsement.
• Clean driving record with no major violations and a background check.
• Ability to successfully complete all necessary State of Michigan driving and safety examinations.
• Must meet all OSHA and Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). standards.
• Previous experience operating commercial buses or passenger vehicles.
• Minimum age of 21 years old (following CDL passenger requirements).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, on-call shifts, and irregular schedules as required.

Adequate health and fitness to maintain an organized schedule. Ability to see, hear and speak clearly, with or without aids. Use of hands, arms, feet, and legs to perform all required functions. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
