About the Role:

The Pro Mechanical
- Welding Foreman plays a critical leadership role in overseeing welding operations within mechanical projects across various industrial settings in the United States. This position is responsible for ensuring that all welding activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and project specifications. The Welding Foreman will coordinate and supervise a team of welders, providing technical guidance and support to maintain high-quality workmanship.

Additionally, the role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and safety personnel to meet project deadlines and budget requirements. Ultimately, the Welding Foreman ensures that welding tasks contribute to the successful completion of mechanical projects while upholding safety and quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a welding foreman or lead welder in mechanical or industrial projects.
• Valid welding certifications such as AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, codes, and safety regulations (e.g., ASME, AWS standards).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with welding equipment and advanced welding techniques.
• Familiarity with project management software and welding inspection tools.
• Previous experience working in diverse industrial environments such as oil & gas, manufacturing, or construction.
• Leadership training or certifications related to team management and safety compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily welding activities on mechanical projects to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to welding team members, including training on welding techniques and safety protocols.
• Monitor welding quality and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to plan welding schedules, allocate resources, and resolve any technical issues.
• Enforce strict safety standards and conduct regular safety meetings to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including weld logs, inspection reports, and personnel certifications.
• Assist in troubleshooting welding equipment and processes to optimize productivity and quality.

Skills:

The Welding Foreman utilizes strong leadership and communication skills daily to effectively manage and motivate the welding team, ensuring clear understanding of project goals and safety requirements. Technical welding expertise is applied to evaluate weld quality, provide hands‑on guidance, and troubleshoot complex welding challenges. Organizational skills are essential for scheduling work, maintaining documentation, and coordinating with other project stakeholders to keep operations on track.
