As a Red Seal certified Mechanic, you will:

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on all City-owned and leased vehicles and equipment;
• Conduct welding and fabrication work both in the shop and out in the field;
• Support special projects and collaborate with other departments to ensure fleet readiness; and
• Help keep Port Moody moving—safely and reliably.

As a Red Seal certified Mechanic, you will bring:

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Journeyman with Red Seal Interprovincial qualification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or Commercial Transport Mechanic (Truck and Transport Mechanic) in the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty construction equipment, heavy duty trucks, and machinery
• Valid CVIP Inspector's certificate
• Experience planning and directing a quality assurance program for a wide variety of municipal equipment
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts
• Class 3 BC Driver's license with Air Endorsement
• Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification would be an asset

Working conditions, compensation & benefits:

• This position typically works Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, reporting to our Works Yard;
• Your hourly rate is $49.20 (2024 rate), which is inclusive of a temporary market adjustment of $3.00/hour; and
