Support essential community services as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with the City of Port Moody. Utilize your Red Seal certification to keep critical operational equipment running efficiently and safely. As a Red Seal certified Mechanic, you will play a vital role in maintaining a diverse fleet, including heavy-duty trucks and emergency response units.
Your expertise will contribute to public safety and the infrastructure of Port Moody. This position requires a minimum of three years' experience as a Journeyman and is integral to the success of our Fleet Services team.
Responsibilities- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on city vehicles
- Conduct welding and fabrication in shop and field
- Collaborate on special projects for fleet readiness
- Ensure safety and reliability of municipal equipment
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Journeyman in mechanics
- Red Seal Interprovincial qualification as Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Valid CVIP Inspector's certificate
- Class 3 BC Driver's license with Air Endorsement
- EVT Certification is a plus
