Process Control Engineer

Indorama Ventures is looking for a Process Control Engineer to support unit operations by maintaining and enhancing process control applications and assets, ensuring safe, environmentally sound, and efficient operation of processing units.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, modify, and tune control strategies for assigned processing units.
  • Provide basic control assistance and advanced control for multi‑variable controllers.
  • Design and develop new control strategies for new projects or products.
  • Monitor unit operation and assist process engineering to meet production, quality, and energy goals.
  • Provide technical support for design, installation, and maintenance of PLCs, automation systems, and Safety Instrumented Systems.
  • Facilitate PSM Management of Change for control changes, participate in PHA and IPL studies, and incident investigations.
  • Relieve other process control engineers during vacations or absences.
  • Ensure compliance with alarm system management policies and standards; lead operational review meetings to rationalize alarm settings.
  • Develop graphics and train operators on control strategies and changes.
  • Cooperate with project engineers on projects and support off‑site control‑related FATs.
  • Ensure activities comply with the integrated management system (safety, health, environment, quality, etc.).
  • Work extra hours or overtime as required to meet daily production objectives.
  • Collaborate with team members from diverse backgrounds and assist in achieving company goals.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in process/process controls/operations engineering in a petrochemical or refining facility.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with DCS systems such as Foxboro IA (Invensys) or Emerson Delta V.
  • Experience with PLCs such as Triconex or GE Fanuc/MarkV,VII.
  • Experience with Process Hazard Analysis and LOPA studies.
  • Experience with control network management, control application development, continuous controls, and batch controls.
  • Ability to identify needs, prioritize, and work independently to achieve goals.
