Process Control Engineer
Indorama Ventures is looking for a Process Control Engineer to support unit operations by maintaining and enhancing process control applications and assets, ensuring safe, environmentally sound, and efficient operation of processing units.
Responsibilities- Develop, modify, and tune control strategies for assigned processing units.
- Provide basic control assistance and advanced control for multi‑variable controllers.
- Design and develop new control strategies for new projects or products.
- Monitor unit operation and assist process engineering to meet production, quality, and energy goals.
- Provide technical support for design, installation, and maintenance of PLCs, automation systems, and Safety Instrumented Systems.
- Facilitate PSM Management of Change for control changes, participate in PHA and IPL studies, and incident investigations.
- Relieve other process control engineers during vacations or absences.
- Ensure compliance with alarm system management policies and standards; lead operational review meetings to rationalize alarm settings.
- Develop graphics and train operators on control strategies and changes.
- Cooperate with project engineers on projects and support off‑site control‑related FATs.
- Ensure activities comply with the integrated management system (safety, health, environment, quality, etc.).
- Work extra hours or overtime as required to meet daily production objectives.
- Collaborate with team members from diverse backgrounds and assist in achieving company goals.
- B.S. in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in process/process controls/operations engineering in a petrochemical or refining facility.
- Proficiency in SAP, Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with DCS systems such as Foxboro IA (Invensys) or Emerson Delta V.
- Experience with PLCs such as Triconex or GE Fanuc/MarkV,VII.
- Experience with Process Hazard Analysis and LOPA studies.
- Experience with control network management, control application development, continuous controls, and batch controls.
- Ability to identify needs, prioritize, and work independently to achieve goals.
