Responsibilities

  • Perform welding in all positions (flat, vertical, overhead) using stick, TIG, MIG, and Flux Core techniques on carbon steel, stainless steel and exotic materials such as Inco
    800, Alloy
    20, Hastelloy, and aluminum.
  • Layout, install, test and repair all types of piping systems, including relief valves, according to plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.
  • Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble, weld and install pipes and tubular products; install supports, valves and control equipment; bolt, clamp or weld parts as required.
  • Apply pipe fitting techniques for butt welded, socket welded, threaded, Victaulic, grooved, glued and fused joints.
  • Complete a site Safety Orientation and follow all site safety and environmental policies.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area; identify safety hazards and apply necessary controls.
  • Assist other crafts as directed by supervision and collaborate with team members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Participate in shift hand‑offs, operator meetings, audits, investigations, HAZOPs, PHAs and quality initiatives.
  • Maintain good housekeeping of equipment, control rooms and production areas.
  • Complete all required safety training, including computer‑based safety modules, and comply with the integrated management system covering safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements.
  • Attend overtime, after‑hours, weekends and callouts as required to meet production objectives.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Ten (10) years of pipefitter/welder experience in a petrochemical or refinery setting, or completion of a 5‑year pipefitter/welder apprenticeship program.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Effective oral, written and computer communication skills.
  • Knowledge of gaskets and proficiency with wrench and bolt sizing.
  • Ability to climb and work at elevated heights.
  • Willingness to work overtime (after‑hours, weekends) and respond to callouts.
