Registered Nurse - Emergency Department, Night Shift

Role Overview

The registered nurse practices independently in a clinical setting, providing both routine and complex patient care. They assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions, addressing patients' psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs. The nurse administers medications and treatments, monitors outcomes, and documents patient information. They also assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers to enhance understanding and compliance.

• Deliver nursing care aligned with professional standards and organizational competencies.
• Utilize the nursing process effectively for patient management.
• Address diverse patient needs and provide appropriate education.
• Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to care team members.

• Preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current RN license and BLS certification required.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, and TNCC are required within specified time frames.
• Completion of orientation, competency validations, and ongoing training are essential.

All new nurses must participate in orientation and training programs. Certifications must be obtained within designated grace periods based on experience level. The role involves working full-time during night shifts (7PM - 7AM).
