Truck Logistics Specialist – Plant Operations
Location:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Truck Logistics Specialist to join our fast-paced plant logistics team. This role is critical to the daily operation of our biodiesel refinery, ensuring the safe, efficient, and on-time movement of inbound raw materials and outbound renewable products. You will be the primary point of contact between our plant loading racks, truck drivers, carriers, and production planning team, optimizing rack utilization and ensuring compliance with all DOT and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Scheduling: Administer all daily functions, scheduling bulk tankers for inbound raw materials and outbound finished products (Biodiesel/Glycerin) according to "On-Time In-Full and Accurate" (OTIFA) guidelines.
- Plant Logistics Coordination: Partner with plant operations, material management, and production planners to align shipping schedules with production capacity, maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce stringent health, safety, and environmental regulations for all carriers entering the facility. Monitor Hazmat compliance and DOT regulations.
- System Tracking & Documentation: Utilize Right Angle, Top Tech (Transportation Management System), or similar software to monitor real-time shipment status, generate BOLs (Bills of Lading), and update inventory records.
- Carrier Management: Coordinate with tanker carriers to optimize loading racks, reduce truck turnaround time, and minimize demurrage costs.
- Troubleshooting: Proactively manage unforeseen logistical disruptions (weather, traffic, plant maintenance) and make rapid, calculated decisions to minimize downtime.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in chemical, fuel, or agricultural logistics, ideally in a 24/7 plant environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of bulk tanker transportation, load scheduling, and inventory control.
- Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in TMS systems and ERP software (e.g., Top Tech, Right Angle). - Communication: Excellent verbal/written communication skills to manage driver relations and internal stakeholder reporting.
- Education: High school diploma required;
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Logistics preferred.
- Experience with renewable fuel logistics.
- Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations.
