We are excited to announce a wonderful opportunity for an internal or external auditing professional. We are now accepting applications for our Senior Compliance Auditor, Management Analyst 5, Full-Time Permanent position, located in scenic Port Orchard, Washington. In this position you will report directly to the WDVA Internal Audit & Compliance Manager. While this position is not a supervisory role, it is responsible for leading other Compliance Auditors in projects, assigning and reviewing work, providing feedback and guidance, under the direction of the WDVA Internal Audit & Compliance Manager.

Please note: Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. A flexible schedule may be possible depending on workload and business needs, as approved by the supervisor. Work is conducted primarily in a skilled nursing facility and occasionally in other agency offices. This position is authorized telework upon approval.

* This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step L. Step M has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules.

This position is eligible for "Supplement Basic Shift Premium" for 24/7 Facilities.

Employees who are assigned to a facility that provides direct care to residents, patients, and/or clients and whose duties are required to be performed on location will receive an additional one dollar ($1.00) per hour of supplemental basic shift premium for each hour of basic shift premium. This shift premium does not apply to overtime hours. The supplemental basic shift premium shall expire on June 29, 2027.

These locations provide Medicare and Medicaid nursing home care to Veterans, including, in some instances, their spouses, widows, or Gold Star Families.

• Lead and manage audit projects to ensure timely completion of fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up activities.
• Research applicable federal and state laws, regulations, contract terms & conditions, accreditation and performance standards, policies and procedures to develop risk-based audit programs and review tools.
• Plan and conduct risk-based audits, compliance reviews, and consulting engagements to evaluate governance, risk management, internal controls, operational effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
• Perform compliance reviews of Medicare, Medicaid, VA Per Diem, and other reimbursement processes, including pre-billing and post billing reviews (such as Triple Check reviews), to assess billing accuracy, documentation, reimbursement integrity, and compliance with CMS and other regulatory requirements.
• Identify control weaknesses and compliance risks; develop audit findings and recommend practical corrective action plans and process improvements.
• Prepare and present audit reports and communicate findings, recommendations and risk assessments to program managers, executive leadership and the Internal Audit & Compliance Manager.
