This posting is for on-call guest teacher positions which will serve in the elementary, middle school, or high school grades (K-12), with the South Kitsap School District. Substitute jobs will be available September 2025 through June 2026.

Performance responsibilities include:

• Modifying instructional programs to meet individual student needs.
• Participating with other staff to cooperatively plan, develop, and implement a course of instruction designed to achieve required academic essential learning standards in all curriculum areas.
• Participating with other staff to cooperatively develop effective, positive techniques for improving student behavior.
• Providing positive assistance and guidance to a diverse population.
• Educating special needs students within the regular classroom environment in collaboration with staff support.
• Reporting student progress to parents regularly.
• Maintaining student records, including daily grades, essential learnings data, cumulative records, orders, inventory, and other records in a timely and orderly fashion.
• Providing instruction to students utilizing a variety of instructional strategies aimed at meeting individual student needs, and utilizing appropriate and available resources, including technology.
• Participating in child guidance discussions to provide appropriate programs for the developmental level of each student.
• Participating in team and individual instructional planning, which includes writing daily lesson plans.
• Participating in staff meetings and planning.
• Participating in total building program, including assemblies, contests, and other student activities.
• Working cooperatively with total building staff in an atmosphere of cooperation and collegiality.

Minimum requirements include:

• Valid Washington State teaching certificate or substitute certificate;
• Bachelor's Degree or higher;
• Demonstrated successful K-12 teaching and/or substituting experience preferred;
• Ability to adapt to a variety of assignments and teaching positions;
• A commitment to learn and implement research-based strategies for teaching and learning;
• Demonstrated dependable work history;
• Demonstrated experience in implementing a prescribed curriculum and appropriate use of adopted methods and materials;
• Flexibility in learning new concepts;
• Demonstrated knowledge of new technologies and ability to incorporate these into instructional programs;
• Demonstrated effective classroom management;
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and parents;
• Demonstrated compatibility with staff, program, and school goals;
• Commitment to fostering a positive attitude;

Clearances include:

• Washington State Patrol and FBI Fingerprint Background Clearance
