Personal Financial Counselor; MCRD Parris , SC

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial services at assigned military installations, including full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families.
• Deliver one‑on‑one counseling, consultation with command staff, briefings, presentations, and referrals to external resources.
• Collaborate with installation and branch Points of Contact to ensure programs meet installation scope and needs.
• Assist service members in establishing spending plans during extended absences.
• Develop and distribute financial informational materials.
• Coordinate, publicize, and provide varied Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering military lifecycle topics such as arrival at first duty station, pre‑ and post‑deployment, and events outlined in DoDI
  1322.34.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication methods, including web‑based, secure online chat, or video‑teleconference as authorized.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information about trends and issues.
• Participate in in‑services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree required (Associate degree plus 4 years of experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience, may be considered).
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen, fluent English (bilingual English/Spanish if required).
• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 investigation.
• Pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for OCI process.
• One of the following certifications:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Salary range: $58,440 – $93,500 (base salary). May be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, voluntary and other benefits.
