Job DescriptionBuild Your Career While Making an Impact! Are you confident, goal-driven, and comfortable having financial conversations? We're hiring Collections Specialists to join our team and help USAA members find solutions for past-due accounts. As a first-party Collections Specialist, you'll represent USAA directly when communicating with members. You'll assess their financial situation, negotiate payment arrangements within established guidelines, and ensure every interaction is handled professionally, accurately, and compliantly.

PSL Contact Center 10400 South US Highway 1 Port St. Lucie, FL 34952 Work Arrangement:
Full-time, onsite Schedules are assigned based on business needs and may include evening and Saturday coverage.
- Handle inbound and outbound first-party collection calls.
- Assist USAA members with accounts 1 to 210+ days past due.
- Work with Consumer Credit Cards, Consumer Loans, Demand Deposit Accounts (DDA), and HELOC.
- Understand the reason for delinquency and identify appropriate solutions.
- Negotiate payment arrangements within established USAA guidelines.
- Drive collection effectiveness through promise-to-pay rate, PTP kept rate, and average payment size.
- Accurately document every member interaction, disposition, and next action.
- Follow required procedures when handling sensitive or regulated situations.
- Escalate situations appropriately when required.
- Protect confidential member information and follow all applicable policies and regulatory requirements.
- Confident and professional when discussing financial matters.
- Excellent communicators and active listeners.
- Comfortable with negotiation and goal-oriented conversations.
- Able to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Detail-oriented and accurate when documenting customer interactions.
- Comfortable navigating multiple computer applications while speaking with members.
- Motivated by goals and performance-based rewards.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, structured contact center environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year of combined customer contact, sales, or collections experience.
- Ability to work full-time onsite in Port St. Lucie, FL.
- Ability to work assigned schedules, including evenings and Saturdays.
- Ability to successfully complete 25 business days of classroom training and 10 business days of nesting with full attendance.
- Successful completion of required pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Credit check may apply based on the applicable contact type.
- Previous first-party collections, recovery, or financial services experience.
- Experience with banks, credit unions, credit cards, consumer loans, or other financial products.
- Familiarity with FDCPA, Regulation F, TCPA, or SCRA concepts.
- Experience in collections, retention, customer saves, or inside sales.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
- U.S. military service or experience as a military spouse/domestic partner.
