JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, this position delivers high-quality instruction in Criminal Justice Academic area, with emphasis on crime scene investigations, legal studies, ethics, penology, and criminal behavior. Responsibilities include maintaining accessible office hours, mentoring students through co-curricular organizations, and supporting student recruitment and retention. The role also involves meaningful community service, active participation in college and departmental committees, and collaboration with the Dean of Public Service Education to advance program and institutional goals.

SPECIFIC

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities associated with teaching a minimum of 36 semester hours annually;

  • Prepare a syllabus and outline for each course;
  • Instruct assigned classes;
  • Grade all quizzes, tests, and written assignments;
  • Assign final grades and delivering grades and grade justification sheets personally to the IRSC main campus;
  • Develop and maintain course management and internet shells;
  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to meet with students;
  • Cooperate in departmental budget preparation and in course planning and development;
  • Assist with departmental projects and programs;
  • Serve on at least one Faculty members College committee;
  • Travel to branch campuses as needed to fulfill teaching requirements;
  • Work collaboratively with the department to develop new courses and labs;
  • Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned
