Surface Warfare Officer (Nuclear)- Earn a monthly salary exceeding $4,000 for up to 30 months before graduating.
- Receive a one-time sign-on bonus of $15,000, plus an additional $2,000 bonus upon completing your nuclear propulsion training.

- Enjoy a salary over $4,000 per month for up to 30 months leading up to your graduation.
- Benefit from an immediate one-time sign-on bonus of $15,000, alongside a $2,000 bonus once you finish nuclear propulsion training.
- Provide for your health with military healthcare benefits during your studies.
- Earn a monthly salary exceeding $4,000 for up to 18 months before your graduation.
- Receive a one-time sign-on bonus of $15,000 for joining.
- Stay healthy with military healthcare benefits while in the program.
- You must be a U.S. citizen (dual citizens will need to renounce non-U.S. citizenship).
- You should be at least 19 years old and less than 29 years old at commissioning (waivers up to 35 years may be available for select positions).
- Pass a medical examination.
- Pass a background investigation.
Candidates must be graduates or students of an accredited college or university in the United States or in U.S. territories, pursuing a BA, BS, or MS (preferably in technical fields).
Application Timeline- 30 months before completing an undergraduate degree for Surface Warfare (Nuclear), Submarine, and Instructor positions.
- 18 months before completion for Naval Reactors Engineers.
- 12 months prior to completing a master's degree for all NUPOC positions.
- One academic year of calculus completed.
- One academic year of calculus-based physics completed.
- A competitive GPA with a minimum grade of B in all technical courses (minimum grade of C in technical courses for Nuclear Submarine and Surface Warfare Officer candidates).
General qualifications may vary based on your intention to serve either Active Duty or Reserve Duty and whether you are currently serving, have served previously, or have never served before.
