Professional Civil Engineer (PE) - Land Development
Location:
Port St. Lucie, FL Job Type: Full-Time Compensation: $75,000 - $120,000 (Based on Experience)
An established multidisciplinary engineering and land development consulting firm is seeking a Florida Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join its growing Port St. Lucie office. This role is ideal for an experienced civil engineer with a strong background in land development, utility infrastructure, stormwater management, permitting, and construction administration.
The successful candidate will lead engineering design efforts from concept through construction while collaborating with clients, municipalities, surveyors, planners, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Engineering Design- Design and prepare civil engineering plans for residential, commercial, and municipal land development projects.
- Perform engineering calculations for:
- Stormwater management systems
- Potable water distribution systems
- Sanitary sewer collection and transmission systems
- Design roadway, utility, drainage, and site infrastructure improvements.
- Prepare engineering specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
- Prepare, submit, and manage permits through local, state, and regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate permit approvals and agency responses.
- Process project certifications and permit closeouts upon project completion.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Florida codes, engineering standards, and permitting requirements.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, CAD designers, surveyors, and other engineering disciplines.
- Attend client meetings, coordination meetings, and technical review sessions.
- Prepare project schedules, technical deliverables, and engineering documentation.
- Develop construction cost estimates for proposed projects.
- Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals.
- Provide construction observation and inspection services.
- Respond to contractor RFIs and field issues.
- Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET-accredited university.
- Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license (Required).
- Minimum 5 years of civil engineering experience.

- Utility Infrastructure
- Experience preparing engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports.
- Experience with Florida permitting agencies and regulatory processes.
- Strong communication and project coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working on municipal and private development projects.
- Construction administration or construction inspection experience.
- Familiarity with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), Water Management Districts, and local municipal permitting.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
