As a Consumer Loan Specialist, you will be a key team member in the branch, ensuring a positive total customer experience while originating consumer loans, completing loan applications, developing strong customer relationships, and meeting sales goals. The successful candidate will possess a professional demeanor, an outgoing and positive attitude, reliability, and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Job Responsibilities
  • Actively seek opportunities to originate new loan business with new and existing customers.
  • Evaluate customer needs to recommend the best consumer loan and voluntary product solutions.
  • Complete loan applications, proposals, and offers for new borrowers and follow up with pending applicants.
  • Assist potential borrowers by explaining the loan process and answering questions regarding loan products and loan processing.
  • Takes ownership of customer concerns and works with management to formulate and execute strategies for potential problem loans.
  • Close loans, assemble loan folders, and perform file organization.
  • Consistently meet or exceed loan goals.
  • Responsible for day‑to‑day servicing of an ever‑growing, complex consumer loan portfolio.
  • Apply analytical skills to quickly and efficiently resolve any customer issues.
  • Process insurance claims, follow‑ups, and payments daily and maintain the insurance log.
  • Provide excellent customer care through daily transactions, customer inquiries, and problem resolution.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and check branch voicemail.
  • Effectively build trust with customers and internal staff by embodying the organization’s philosophy, core values, policies, procedures, and compliance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of sales experience (e.g., retail sales, goal‑oriented or incentive‑based).
  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, strong communication and customer relations skills required.
  • Ability to work in a high‑performing, fast‑paced, goal‑oriented team environment.
  • Ability to navigate priorities while paying close attention to details.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to meet acceptable standards for criminal background history, credit history, and pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
  • Eligibility to obtain insurance licensing to sell voluntary insurance products (subject to criminal background check by the state’s department of insurance).
