Weekends, 2nd shift, 3rd shift

8 hour and 12 hour shifts available

Position Overview

The Patient Care Associate (PCA) (aka BHT) provides direct and supportive care to adolescents receiving mental health and addiction treatment services. Working under the supervision of nursing and clinical staff, the PCA supports patients in their recovery journey by fostering a compassionate, respectful, and therapeutic environment while ensuring patient safety and compliance with the patient’s treatment plan.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of completed college coursework in psychology, social work, nursing, or a related human services/healthcare field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with adolescents in mental health, addiction services, or healthcare setting strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and trauma-informed care an asset.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid required; CPI or other crisis intervention training preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and de-escalation skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Working Conditions
  • Shifts may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Work involves direct interaction with individuals who may be in crisis or display challenging behaviors.
  • Physical requirements include standing and walking outside and climbing 3 flights of stairs.
