Assists new mothers and infants with breast feeding techniques in the Labor and Delivery unit. Registered nurse responsibilities include monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and respiration, and managing pain and nausea.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida or recognized compact licensure (subject to Florida licensing requirements, including ongoing eligibility and duration provisions).
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical Maternal/Child experience.
• One year of Lactation Nursing experience preferred.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification.
• IBCLC certification required.
• Current NRP certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital is a 229-bed acute care facility with services including birthing center, cardiac catheterization, cancer care, breast center, minimally-invasive and robotic surgery, general and vascular surgery. It is a Certified Primary Stroke Center and an ACC Chest Pain Center. The Emergency Rooms serve diverse populations including pediatric and geriatric patients.
