About the position
As a Manufacturing Engineer in the Port St Lucie/Stuart team, you will be involved in finding and implementing better ways to manufacture products at Dometic’s Port St Lucie facility. The main goal of the manufacturing engineer is continuous improvement and is accomplished by utilizing a hands‑on approach to the manufacturing process and employing Lean tools, six‑sigma, TOC, and PFMEA to all phases of the operation.
Yourmain responsibilities
- Perform end‑to‑end planning of manufacturing processes including layout, flow, assembly methods, cycle times, equipment, fixturing, and other related manufacturing costs
- Calculate workspace requirements and design strategies/layouts to utilize floor space most effectively
- Troubleshoot production problems and implement effective corrective actions that address root cause
- Must be able to quantitatively improve existing products and manufacturing process outputs
- Design, develop, test, and/or source as well as cost‑justify various machinery, equipment, and fixtures for recommended manufacturing methods
- Support development teams in evaluating new product designs & manufacturing processes to ensure products will meet customer requirements
- Create & implement supporting documentation with the manufacturing management team such as operator instructions, control plans, and process requirements
- Perform equipment calibration and process/equipment capability studies
- Develop training materials that facilitate faster aptitude gain and effectively deliver those materials in a team environment to ensure employees throughout the facility are trained
- Respond to corrective actions/preventive actions in a timely manner
- Investigate and respond to customer complaints in conjunction with Quality department
- Develop and maintain a high level of product knowledge
- Keep technical knowledge current by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, etc.
- Actively engage in and motivate and inspire hands‑on problem solving across disciplines
- Incorporate company vision and values into day‑to‑day activities and behaviors
- Guide and motivate others to remain committed to Dometic’s philosophy

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution, master’s degree is a plus
- Must have a working knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality Management System
- A minimum of three (3) years working in a manufacturing environment
- Able to present data to senior management
- Experience in lean manufacturing is required, Six Sigma certification is a plus
- Mastery of Word, Excel, and Solid Works
- Software experience in C#, WPF, PHP a definite asset.
- PLC experience in Productivity 3000 a plus.
- Solid Works, Altium Designer system experience is a bonus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
