Port Saint Lucie, FL 34953 – $17.00 / hour – full time
Job DescriptionA Security Guard Supervisor manages a team of guards to ensure that guards follow all protocol in protecting and securing the client’s premises and employees. The role involves providing security services to a variety of clients and direct communication with the client, including federal government, manufacturing and distribution facilities, schools and colleges, religious institutions, retail sites, and other fixed or temporary locations as needed.
Responsibilities- Write and submit security reports
- Protect people and property
- Conduct routine patrols with team
- Hire and manage all aspects of guard team
- Provide training, including new hires
- Communicate effectively with client management, employees, and visitors
- Ensure site supervisors comply with EEOC, wage and hour, and other employment laws
- Ensure quality service by security team and compliance with policies, contracts, and laws
- Identify problems or issues and develop and implement solutions
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and on-site training for security officers and supervisors
- Ensure that contract-required training and screening elements are met
- Communicate noteworthy items to L4 executive management
- Perform other management tasks as assigned
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to operate a firearm and receive appropriate licensure
- Excellent verbal and written customer service skills
- Critical thinking skills and ability to remain alert in escalated, crisis, or emergency situations
- Multi‑tasking ability
- Computer proficiency and ability to operate security devices
- Ability to obtain required training and licensures as required by client and state
- Previous experience as a police officer, military police officer, or security guard
- No criminal record
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Walk and patrol client facilities (length and period determined by client)
- Stand for long periods, sometimes more than eight hours
- Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
