Description Position Summary
Calvary Christian Academy seeks a safety-conscious, reliable School Bus Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation for students. This position operates on an as-needed basis to cover regular routes, field trips, athletic events, and extracurricular activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Student
Transportation: Transport students safely to and from school, athletic competitions, field trips, and campus activities according to designated schedules and routes. - Vehicle
Inspection &
Safety: Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits) to verify operating condition. Report mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately. - Student Supervision: Enforce bus safety rules, maintain student discipline, and report serious behavioral infractions to school administration.

Compliance: Follow emergency evacuation procedures, observe all traffic laws, and adhere to Florida Department of Education (FL DOE) and Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) standards. - Vehicle Care: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe bus interior following every shift.
- Licensure: Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class A or B with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record with no major moving violations or convictions within the last 3 to 5 years.
Certifications: First Aid and CPR certification preferred (or willing to obtain upon hire).
Skills: Strong communication skills, patience with children, and punctual availability on short notice.
Education & Experience RequirementsStandard High School Diploma
Physical Requirements- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use office equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move materials up to 25 pounds.
