Site Electrician – Port Talbot
Salary: £40,000–£45,000 plus allowances

National role with frequent working away from home
A hands‑on site electrician role focused on installing, servicing and maintaining industrial and high‑security door systems, with national travel, early starts in Port Talbot, and strict security‑clearance requirements.
Role OverviewAs a Site Electrician, you’ll work within a small installation and servicing team, carrying out electrical and mechanical tasks on a wide range of industrial and secure‑site door systems. You’ll support installations, repairs, fault finding, testing and documentation, ensuring all work meets required safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Electrical installation & servicing — Work on electrically operated sliding‑folding, bi‑fold, side‑hinged and fire door systems.
- Maintenance & fault finding — Diagnose issues, test components and complete repairs.
- Technical problem solving — Apply practical, safe and innovative solutions on‑site.
- Health & Safety compliance — JIB/ECS card required; supervisors require SSSTS.
- Team support — Work within or lead a team of 3–6 fitters to deliver projects efficiently.
- Use of power tools — Drills, grinders and other electrical/mechanical tools.
- Documentation & reporting — Complete all HSE and project paperwork accurately.
- Reading technical drawings — Follow electrical and installation schematics.
- Cross‑discipline support — Assist with mechanical tasks when required.
This role involves work on secure and high‑risk sites. Candidates must pass enhanced security checks, including:
- Employment history checks (minimum 3 years)
- UK residency checks (minimum 5 years)
- Medical assessment
- Random drugs and alcohol testing
- Latest UK electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds 2365, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or 2394/2395)
- ECS Gold Card or equivalent
- Proven experience wiring control panels and fault finding
- Experience with industrial containment systems
- Experience on secure or high‑risk sites
- Knowledge of automated or high‑security door systems
- IPAF / PASMA / SSSTS
- Forklift or Telehandler licence
