IntroductionAcorn by Synergie is recruiting an experienced Electrical Inspector to join a major industrial manufacturing operation in Port Talbot
.
This is an opportunity to work within a large-scale, technically demanding production environment, where electrical reliability plays a key role in maintaining safe and efficient operations.
Working as part of the engineering team, you'll support electrical systems, control equipment, drives, motors and associated plant, using your technical knowledge to fault-find, investigate issues and contribute to improvements across the site.

You'll work with in a high-speed steel manufacturing operation, responding to electrical faults and supporting the safe and reliable operation of production equipment.
Your responsibilities may include fault-finding on electrical control systems, working on installations, supporting permits, investigating issues with motors and drives, and helping identify improvements to plant reliability and performance.
There will also be opportunities to develop your technical knowledge in areas including AC/DC drives, PLCs, instrumentation and HV/LV systems
.
- Fault-find and diagnose electrical issues across production plant.
- Work with electrical systems, control equipment, motors and drives.
- Carry out electrical installation work.
- Support electrical permits and site safety procedures.
- Investigate equipment faults and identify appropriate solutions.
- Contribute to improvements in plant safety, reliability and productivity.
- Work collaboratively with the wider engineering team.
- Apply technical judgement when responding to equipment and production issues.
- Work safely and effectively with minimal supervision.
- Approved electrical apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 Electrical or equivalent.
- Solid experience working with industrial electrical systems.
- Good knowledge of electrical control systems, motors and drives.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience carrying out electrical installations.
- Understanding of electrical permit-to-work systems.
- Ability to work safely and confidently without constant supervision.
- Practical approach to problem solving.
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- AC/DC drives.
- LV/HV systems.
- Instrumentation.
- Electrical authorisations.
You don't need experience across every area. A strong industrial electrical background and willingness to develop your technical skills are key.
