The Public Works Department is seeking motivated professionals interested in joining our progressive engineering and project management team. An applicant may be hired to an Engineer III or IV position, depending on qualifications and experience.
Located in Port Townsend, the Engineer applies professional and technical expertise to deliver capital projects including wastewater facilities, roads, trails, bridges and stormwater infrastructure. Duties include development of plans, specifications, and estimates, legal and technical research, consultant and grant management, and construction management and inspection. A working knowledge of federal, state and county policies and regulations is highly desirable.
Engineer IIIWorks on all aspects of complex civil engineering related to wastewater, roads, transportation, traffic, solid waste, and parks facilities. Responsible for several major projects at one time.
- Bachelor's degree in civil/mechanical engineering, architecture, or a closely related field and 4 years progressively more responsible civil, traffic, or mechanical engineering experience.
- Registration as Professional Engineer in WA State desirable. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Teamsters Grade A3-M, 40 hours/week with benefits.
- Pay range: $42.46/hr - $50.74/hr, Depends on Experience.

Performs advanced professional engineering in design and construction related to wastewater, roads, transportation, and solid waste and parks facilities. Provides advanced expertise in specialized areas of engineering or in multiple engineering related functions. Acts as resource to staff engineers and technicians on complex projects.
- Bachelor's degree in civil/mechanical engineering, architecture, or a closely related field and 7 years progressively more responsible civil, traffic, or mechanical engineering experience.
- Registration as Professional Engineer in WA State, or registered as a Professional Engineer in another state with the ability to obtain WA State registration within six months required.
Teamsters Grade A3-N, 40 hours/week with benefits.
- Pay range: $44.58/hr - $53.26/hr, Depends on Experience.
