Peer Support Specialist
Jefferson County is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to support the participants in Therapeutic Courts – Behavioral Health Court, Drug Court, and the Unified Dependency Calendar. This position works with individuals who are struggling with issues related to mental health and addiction while they are participating in the Therapeutic Court Program.
The Peer Support Specialist will be a resource to help participants plan, evaluate and maintain their recovery journey by engaging in a positive supportive relationship. The Peer Support Specialist is someone who has lived experience in the Therapeutic Court Program and is responsible for demonstrating and inspiring hope, trust and a positive outlook and optimizing participant connection with a broad range of community-based services and natural supports.

- Individual needs to be able to perform this job successfully in each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are listed on the job description attached, and are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Must be a former graduate of a Therapeutic Court Program
- Proficient level of ability with Microsoft Office products
Hours & Compensation:
This position is 30 hours per week and a Grade 22 UFCW position. Pay range is $23.69 - $29.14/hour. Starting pay is typically $23.69, depending on experience. Full medical benefits, including dental and vision. Retirement provided through Washington State DRS. Paid Time Off (PTO), 11 paid holidays, and bereavement leave.
